THE BOOK
Life can’t be perfected, only practiced. When this theory is applied to running a business, you can build a culture of unlimited growth. You may not know it, but your organization's culture is far more powerful than the bottom line, and personal growth is the most satisfying value anyone, or any business, can create.
Follow Bryan Nunes’ journey, from early childhood to present day, as he discovers life’s universal truths and creates a business practice based on values, awareness, and personal growth.
Whether you're still discovering your own voice, thinking about starting a business, or mid-career searching for your mojo, Blown Away uses rich and entertaining anecdotes spanning five decades, to convey the essential nature of personal and business success.
If you long for more meaning, and have a desire to expand your impact, exploring these pages will show you how to overcome self-imposed limitations, activate your awareness, and develop a business community with an intentional culture—whose collective imagination can remove any obstacle life throws at it.
BRYAN
Bryan Nunes is a seeker, inventor, innovator, and entrepreneur. He also owns Blo, a thriving hair salon in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he and his partner live with their beautiful blended family.
He approaches leadership, not as something to be perfected, but as something to be embraced and practiced every day. His core philosophy is rooted in the idea that activating our awareness, and confronting our self-imposed limitations, naturally fosters a shared culture of personal growth for those willing to participate—both, team members and guests alike.
Bryan’s penchant for coloring outside the lines, and his propensity to continually question Blo’s systems and methods, has evolved it from a two-chair studio into a forty-chair salon, trending upwards of $3.5 million in annual revenue, with more than 40 employees. Together, their accolades and awards include: North American Hair Awards (NAHA), a Global Salon Business Award, Salon Today magazine’s Salon of the Year award and recognition as a Salon Today 200 honoree for more than a decade.
Above all else, Bryan is a proud father and humble student in the lives of his children, Franky and Clyde. He’s also a huge U2 fan, attending more than 110 U2 concerts in 10 countries since 1986. And yes, he has found what he’s looking for.
